Holy hell….yesterday was a tough day. I was fighting incredibly sore muscles, lack of sleep, a busy day at work and just an overall general attitude of “I just want to go home and curl up on the couch.” It would be very easy for me to blame it on the gloomy, rainy weather here in Vancouver, but I kind of like the rain! Yes, I am one of those people! I also have a seriously passionate relationship with winter and the snow, also happens to contain my favorite holiday…Christmas. Ok enough of the side thoughts….
I called my mom on my way home from work, vented about the day and remembered a photo a dear friend of mine sent me earlier in the day. It was time to suit up and kick some ass. I changed and put on my runners to go out and get those steps, the rain had cleared a bit, so off I went. I didn’t get too far before the heavens opened up and it started to pour, and in what was clearly a blonde moment, I did not take an umbrella with me. I hid out under an awning till it cleared up before making the dash home, so alas you can see the lack of steps on the Fitbit. I did compensate with just under an hour of Yoga and boy did my muscles thank me.
Nutrition-wise I did pretty good! For the last two days I have been able to stay under 100g of sugar! This has made me a very happy camper. I have started to drink my coffee, half sweet and cut back on my fruit intake. The coffee part has been easy, taste buds are adjusting, cutting back on my fruit intake has been so hard. I love fruit! I refuse to cut fruit out completely but believe it may be left to my morning shakes only. I also discovered a seriously addicting new recipe, last night I was craving French fries in a bad bad way, so I made Baked Polenta Fries, I love Pinterest! I will share the recipe below.
I am excited to tackle today, but there is this little voice in my head concerned about the weekend. This is historically when I fall off the wagon, cause I am out of my work routine and come up with some really great excuses to “cheat”. Yes, I have my cheat meal for Saturday night all planned!
